I was originally planning to have a rest day today, but as on so many occasions lately, I just couldn’t sit tight again. I was studying EU law today starting at 7 pm and by the time afternoon came I felt like a zombie and really needed to get out of the apartment. So I decided to go and do some workout outdoors!
First I started off with 1.5km jogging to warm up – it was a little strange without music but since I really just wanted to warm up and not to run a good time it was fine. Then I found myself a pretty green spot with less people in the park to start. I took my jump rope with me and it was great to finally do it again! I always forget it in the gym, though I shouldn’t because it’s an awesome way to get your heart rate up and work your calves at the same time! I did 15 mins of the jump rope in one minute intervals and oh boy my heart was pumping by the time I finished. I still feel like I should work on my breathing technique though.
After resting just a few minutes I decided to do some bodyweight exercises. Actually I made a little mistake by not planning what exatly I would do, so it was quite random, but still a lot of fun. I was watching the dogs running around and just enjoying the perfect weather. I did:
- Jump squats
- Skater jumps
- Jumping jacks
- Mountain climbers
- Pushups (wide, narrow and diamond)
- Russian twists
This part took about 30-40 mins and it wasn’t the typical tough workout because of being so not organized, but I still felt great afterwards. But next time I’m gonna be prepared and put together a proper workout plan for these occasional bodyweight workouts in the park!
After getting home I drank my favourite Banana flavoured Scitec 100% Whey Professional protein shake! I love that it doesn’t have that typical fake banana taste. It really tastes natural and the sweetness is also just right – perfect! And now that I finally feel that I managed to balance my mental and physical efforts for the day, I can sit back and watch the new episode of my new favourite Taiwanese drama, Murphy’s Law of Love, haha!
