Healthy body image – a great role model

I’m glad to read more and more articles about promoting a healthy body image in contrast to all those unrealistic images we still see all over the media. But what I like even more are the famous people who actually promote this image not just by talking about it, but by living it. I am a huge fan of Ellen and a few days ago I was watching her video about my childhood/teenage favourite favourite, Hilary Duff performing her new song on Ellen show. Here’s the video:

First of all, I still love Hilgary Duff. I love her movies, love her songs and I love that even though she grew up in the spotlight she never had scandals like most of the other Disney stars. She got married and has an adorable son -who is going to be super handsome by the way, when he grows up! Yes, her marriage didn’t work out and they got divorced but she still kept a balanced life and keeps going with her career.

She looks like a real woman – and by that I don’t mean she’s even a little bit chubby. No, she is strong and you can see she accepted herself, loves herself and it radiates from her every minute she’s on the stage or in front of the camera. I really think she’s still a great role model to all the girls, showing you don’t have to be skin and bones to look great and feel great. I still look up to her to this day and I hope seeing her will help many girls in the future to accept and love themselves.
