…when it’s been continuously raining for day and then one evening it unexpectedly stops and after days of being stuck in the apartment you can finally go for a run in the park! So wonderful – and it happened yesterday!
I was really fed up with this rainy weather already – even though it makes studying a little bit easier, because at least I don’t end up just staring out the window thinking about how bad I wanna be outside instead of sitting at my desk. In this regard yesterday was pretty great, because it was raining all morning, but stopped by the afternoon, right when I left home with mom to go and get a cup of coffee at our favourite place, Cafe Frei. They have special coffee from all around the world, and their coconut or hazelnut coffees don’t get the taste from added syrups, the ground coffee already has the flavour. So we grabbed a packet of Raspberry coffee from Tokyo for my dad (he was sniffing his cup for like 5 mins last time he drank it) beofre we left. Anyways, it was already a lovely afternoon.
And by the time we got home around 7 pm, it wasn’t only not raining, but there was sunshine – right before the sunset, and about 20°C. It was just perfect. I felt a bit bad for not being able to go to the gym that day, so I got really excited that the weather turned out to be so great and I can go for a run. And I gotta say, it was a great run! My overall pace was really good for myself (my usual pace is 6 mins/km, but I have two kilometers at about a 5.5 min/km pace!) and there were some parts when I really felt like running and not jogging, at a speed of 12-14 km/h! Too bad I can’t keep it up for more than a few minutes because I get out of breath! But I also did a sprint on the last 100m! This was a perfect example for why I love running. After feeling like being in a cage because of the rain I felt so free running, feeling the wind on my face and so alive!
